Although seldom refered to, but there is actually 2 versions of the Pancolar 50/1.8. While the first version had the classic 6 element in 4 group planar design. The later version ( starting with the MC Pancolar M42 mount and used in PB mount version also ) had a redesigned configuration of 6 elemnts in 5 groups. with modification done to both the front and rear negative elements. Splitting the rear pair into independent groups too.

    There is also a version of pancolar 50/1.8 MC with min aperture of f22.

    Great lens! Better definition but lower constrast than the summicron M (minolta-leitz production of 1973 -the best of the summicrons M that I had) . At 50x, the green is out of focus

    Ihave two versions MC. One N| and the other N| The second have diferent MC(reflexions blue, violet, yellow and pale green) and is cold with contrast elevated. In the first, the white things are yellowish in the foto.
