    A fantastic lens. The sharpness and contrast of this one surpasses any other lens I have. Only drawback is that it is massive, built like a tank.

    Very soft wide open , this lens is very sharp after F4 .
    The color rendition is colder than the Carl Zeiss 135.

    Le rendu de ce Takumar me semble plus froid que celui du Carl Zeiss 135 f3.5 et avec plus d’abb?rations chromatiques .
    Cela est cependant un objectif tr?s pr?cis et tr?s bon .

    Voilier sur l’?tang

    I wonder if people are truly commenting on the right lens. There were two versions of the Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 135mm f2.5. Five ways to tell the difference: kajiwara.weebly.com/takumar-13525-v2-66.html

    Easiest is to look at the part number stamped into the Auto/Man switch.
    V1 = 43802
    V2 = 43812

    Version 2 is an improved optical design (and coating) and is the same design used in the first SMC K 135mm f2.5 (not to be confused with the vastly inferior “Bayonet” 135mm f2.5).

    The 1972 Version 2 does not seem to be in the listing of Takumars on this site (but the reviews above could be for either v1 or v2, since they don’t specify).
