This lens actually had 2 variations. The early production run had the 4 elements in 3 group, while the bulk of the others had the 4 elements in 4 group. There is no visible difference between the 2 variations.

Same as Super-Takumar?

EN: I found one of these that appears to be an earlier version than the one described in the database. It is a preset one with the apperture ring at the front. Interestingly it had a nice extra ring that allows you to “stop” the apperture ring turning past a preset apperture, so it is very easy to shoot with. You do the focus wide open, then turn the apperture ring until it stops to the preset, and shoot. This lens is coated, altho I’m not sure it is multicoated. It is, as described, very sharp and very convenient as a small telephoto.

Takumar adapted on 300D. This old portrait lens was among the sharpest in its day. I see that it still is. The contrast and resolutiion is really superb. A 105mm lens is like a 160+mm
lens on a digital camera- because the smaller sensor crops out much of the actual focused image.

This model shot was lighted with studio strobes. Two strobe heads placed to the back of the model, on each side, and each covered with a yellow and blue gel to produce the lighting effect. A small styrofoam reflector placed near the camera opened some of the shadows.
